4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 5/10/17

Of the aces on the mound tonight, Stephen Strasburg looks like the one to skip over. Who else should you avoid in daily fantasy baseball on Wednesday?

Tonight's nine-game FanDuel main slate arguably sports four aces in Yu Darvish ($11,200), Stephen Strasburg ($10,600), Chris Archer ($10,400), and Danny Salazar ($10,100).

Darvish (vs. Padres), Archer (vs. Royals), and Salazar (at Blue Jays) all boast strong matchups, which leaves Strasburg as a distant fourth among the high-priced tier -- more on him later.

Beyond that group, it's difficult to move down to anyone else, but Kenta Maeda ($8,700) gets the lowest implied team total in the Pittsburgh Pirates (3.13). Maeda is always a risk to go deep into games, but he has a 26.3% strikeout rate and 15.2% swinging-strike rate. He's only surpassed five innings once this season, going seven, but he put up 49.0 FanDuel points in that start.

For hitters, there will be plenty to choose from with pitchers like Matt Boyd (5.20 SIERA), Phil Hughes (43.6% hard-hit rate), Tom Koehler (38.5% hard-hit rate), and Kyle Kendrick (12.7% strikeout rate in 2016) among those in attendance.

But as usual, we must also look at who lacks the upside or value to make the cut. Here are four to avoid tonight!
