The Tampa Bay Rays will be starting Alex Cobb on the mound tonight, which should mean big things for the Baltimore Orioles' lefties.

The right-handed Cobb has opened the season allowing a .467 wOBA with a 4.99 xFIP against lefties after allowing an absurd .502 wOBA with a 5.08 xFIP to southpaws through five starts in his return from Tommy John surgery in 2016. He has faced 207 total batters since returning from the surgery, allowing a 40.1% hard-hit rate and a .388 wOBA overall.

Seth Smith is off to a strong start this season with a .387 wOBA through 39 plate appearances. He tagged right-handed pitchers for a 34.2% hard-hit rate in 2016 and is in a great spot versus Cobb.
