Marwin Gonzalez struggled to start August, enduring a 2 for 18 stretch to begin the month. In addition, even with a game at the Rogers Centre, the Houston Astros only sport an implied team total of 4.34 runs, and many other heavy-hitters will be targeted in this matchup.
Why You Should Use Him:
Despite the early struggles to start August, Gonzalez has recently been on a tear, racking up six hits over his last two contests. He also sees a bump when he switches over to the right-hand side and attacks left-handed pitching, improving his ISO up to .188. He and the rest of the Astros will take hacks against Francisco Liriano tonight. Throw in the fact that this game is at the Rogers Centre, which ranks seventh in park factor, and Gonzalez has some serious upside.
Liriano sports a 4.61 xFIP and is allowing a .360 wOBA to right-handed batters in 2016, making Gonzalez a nice value option on tonight's slate.
