NFL
10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 3

It was another wild Sunday of NFL action.

Here are some of the best additions you can make to your squads based on everything we know so far. (I'll stick to players rostered on no more than 60% of Yahoo teams and also list some other viable pickups who may be available in shallower leagues or relevant only in deeper leagues).

Quarterbacks
Justin Fields, Bears

Roster Percentage: 58%

Justin Fields is the top streamer for Week 3. He's taking on the Houston Texans, and while Houston's D has been solid through two games, this is still a good matchup for Fields.

Fields attempted only 11 passes in a loss at the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. That kind of volume is both hard to believe and terrible for his fantasy prospects. But we're here for Fields' running ability (and the matchup). He's carried the rock 19 times for 48 yards thus far. He scored once on the ground versus the Packers and nearly added another.

On a week where the streaming options are thin, Fields looks like the best bet.

Others to Consider:
Tua Tagovailoa (62%; vs. Buffalo), Jameis Winston (49%; at Carolina), Geno Smith (6%; vs. Atlanta), Jimmy Garoppolo (4%; at Denver)

Running Backs
Raheem Mostert, Dolphins

Roster Percentage: 43%

Raheem Mostert got more work in Week 2 than he did in Week 1. His snap rate jumped to 55% in the Miami Dolphins' crazy win over the Baltimore Ravens. This Miami offense is looking legit, and with Mostert in -- at worst -- a timeshare with Chase Edmonds, he is well worth an add.

He logged 11 carries and 3 targets in Week 2, turning the touches into 79 total yards. Edmonds totaled just five carries and three targets while playing 51% of the snaps.

Mostert and Edmonds figure to cap each other's ceiling as long as both are healthy, but Mostert's roster percentage needs to be much closer to Edmonds', which sits at 95%.

Tyler Allgeier, Falcons

Roster Percentage: 14%

After being a healthy scratch in Week 1, Tyler Allgeier was a factor in the Falcons' backfield this past Sunday.

Bumped up the depth chart due to Damien Williams' absence, Allgeier played 30% of the snaps in Week 2 and amassed 10 carries, which he put to use for 30 yards. Allgeier didn't see a single target in a game in which Atlanta trailed big, but it's clear that this backfield won't belong entirely to Cordarrelle Patterson for as long as Williams -- who is on IR -- is sidelined.

Allgeier is mostly a speculative add, but on a week without many great running-back pickups out there (prior to Monday's games), you could do worse.

Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin, Cardinals

Roster Percentage: 4% and 11%

James Conner exited early in Week 2, which opened the door for Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin.

Williams and Benjamin logged snap rates of 46% and 43%, respectively, splitting things pretty much down the middle once Conner departed. They saw 8 carries apiece, but Williams did a lot more with his attempts, running for 59 yards, compared to Benjamin's 31. Williams also scored a goal-line touchdown. Williams garnered three targets to Benjamin's four.

If Conner is expected to miss any time, both of these guys are viable pickups. Williams would get the slight edge for me. If reports have Conner being OK, then you can leave Willams and Benjamin on the wire.

Jerick McKinnon, Chiefs

Roster Percentage: 6%

Jerick McKinnon impressed in last season's playoffs, and although he's been a clear number-two behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, he's a fun add in deeper leagues, particularly any kind of PPR format.

On Thursday, McKinnon received just 6 touches to CEH's 12, but McKinnon took advantage of 3 red-zone touches and tallied a short receiving touchdown. CEH didn't have a red-zone touch.

McKinnon has now played 39% and 47% of the snaps. He's been well ahead of Isiah Pacheco (9% snap rate in Week 2) for the number-two job. Time will tell if that holds, but McKinnon currently has a decent early-season role in one of the league's elite offenses.

Others to Consider:
Dameon Pierce (87%), Jeff Wilson (74%), Jamaal Williams (58%), Alexander Mattison (56%), Mark Ingram (30%), Brian Robinson (48%), Tyrion Davis-Price (8%)

Wide Receivers
Garrett Wilson, Jets

Roster Percentage: 22%

The New York Jets look like they have something in rookie Garrett Wilson, and after a monster Week 2 outing, Wilson is the top waiver add this week.

Wilson absolutely shredded the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, going off for 8 catches, 102 yards, and 2 tuds on a whopping 14 targets. The 14 looks come out to a 31.8% target share. He was the apple of Joe Flacco's eye as only one other Jets pass-catcher -- Tyler Conklin (nine) -- got more than five targets.

Wilson was solid in Week 1, as well, recording 4 receptions for 52 yards on 8 looks.

It might be a tad premature to call Wilson Gang Green's number-one wideout; he's played just 49% and 61% of the snaps after all, and Elijah Moore is a good player. Also, Zach Wilson might not pepper him with targets the way Flacco has. But the rookie sure looks the part through two games, and it sounds like his playing time will keep rising.

Wilson should be a universal add this waiver run.

Jahan Dotson, Commanders

Roster Percentage: 43%

Another rookie wideout, Jahan Dotson has been mighty impressive through two games.

Following a two-score effort in Week 1, Dotson hauled in 4-of-5 targets for 59 yards and another touchdown in Week 2, tacking on a two-point conversion.

Dotson won't keep scoring touchdowns at this rate, of course. He's got three of them in 10 total targets. But he played 99% of the snaps in Week 2 and should see a steady role all year long for a Washington Commanders offense that has been better than anticipated with Carson Wentz at the controls.

Jakobi Meyers, Patriots

Roster Percentage: 35%

Jakobi Meyers is far and away the leading receiver on the New England Patriots.

Meyers has 19 targets through two weeks, including a whopping 13 in Week 2. The 13 looks amounted to a 37.1% target share. The rest of the Pats' wideouts -- Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, and DeVante Parker -- combined for 13 targets in Week 2.

The ceiling for Meyers is meh in an offense that wants to lean on the run, but Meyers' role is a really good one. He's a suitable WR3 in PPR or a bench piece who can fill in when bye weeks start.

Others to Consider:
Curtis Samuel (70%), Chris Olave (62%), Treylon Burks (43%), Robbie Anderson (38%), Romeo Doubs (28%), Josh Palmer (27%), Noah Brown (2%)

Tight Ends
Gerald Everett, Chargers

Roster Percentage: 57%

Through two games, Gerald Everett has shown to have a quality role in the Los Angeles Chargers' offense. He's played 66% and 67% of the snaps (one snap too many in Week 2), and Everett has been targeted 14 times by Justin Herbert.

Once Keenan Allen comes back, there will be a lot of mouths to feed in the Bolts' attack, but Everett is looking like a back-end TE1 option who is capable of making big plays.

Others to Consider:
Tyler Higbee (67%), Mike Gesicki (27%), Logan Thomas (14%), Tyler Conklin (3%)

Defenses
Minnesota D/ST

Roster Percentage: 18%

The Detroit Lions' offense has been one of the big surprises through two weeks as they've played pretty darn well. I still think we can pick on them at times this season.

The Minnesota Vikings host the Lions in Week 3, and it sets up as a nice spot for the Minnesota D/ST. The Vikings are 7.0-point favorites in a game with a 53.5-point total, meaning we should see a lot of possessions and plenty of Jared Goff drop backs. Yes, please.

Minnesota is a top streamer in Week 3, and depending on your league settings, you might be able to pick them up before their game kicks off on Monday night.

Others to Consider:
Chicago D/ST (4%; vs. Houston), New York Giants D/ST (7%; vs. Dallas), Seattle D/ST (2%; vs. Atlanta)
