College Football Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 11/6/21

Week 10 of college football is here! FanDuel's college football DFS main slate on Saturday includes 14 games.

In case you're unfamiliar with how it works, you can check out the rules and scoring on FanDuel, where you can hit the lobby each week to see the full array of slates and contests being offered.

As for the basics, your roster consists of a quarterback slot, two running backs, three wide receivers (which also includes tight ends), and one "Super FLEX". In the Super FLEX spot, you can insert one player from any position, including quarterbacks.

Here, our goal is to help you field a roster full of fantasy goodness, and in true numberFire fashion, we'll use our DFS projections, game projections, and market share report to tackle as many slates as possible in the lead-up to the College Football Playoff. In this piece, we are breaking down Saturday's main slate, which locks at 12:00 p.m. EST.

Let's look at which players are in great spots as well as identify some players with low salaries who will allow you to roster the high-salary players.

Quarterbacks

Sam Howell, North Carolina ($11,500) – It has been a disappointing season for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Despite a 4-4 record, Sam Howell has been a bright spot. The junior is averaging 274.0 passing yards and 73.1 rushing yards per game. Howell has accounted for 25 total touchdowns this season. Saturday's ACC matchup with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons could be a track meet. Both North Carolina and Wake Forest rank in the bottom third of college football in total defense. North Carolina is 76th while Wake Forest checks in at 98th.

Malik Willis, Liberty ($10,200) – Though Willis plays for a small school, he is a legitimate first-round NFL draft prospect. Liberty's star quarterback has accounted for at least three touchdowns in seven straight games. Additionally, he is posting elite rushing stats as a quarterback, leading the Flames with 684 rushing yards. While the matchup with Mississippi Rebels is a proverbial step up in competition, I'd expect Willis to perform well. The Rebels' defense is vulnerable. They rank 102nd nationally in total defense (429.6 yards per game). On a sidenote, Willis versus Matt Corral is must-see television.

Gerry Bohanon, Baylor ($8,600) – The dual-threat quarterback has accounted for 19 touchdowns through eight games in 2021. He is under-salaried considering his ability and this week's showdown with the Texas Christian Horned Frogs. TCU's defense has been horrifying this season. They rank 110th nationally in total D (allowing 443.2 yards per game). TCU has surrendered 31 total touchdowns through eight games.

Aiden O'Connell, Purdue ($6,700) – This is a risk-reward play. O'Connell is always vulnerable to losing snaps to his backup quarterback(s) on any given Saturday. However, if he plays well, there's a good chance he'll play the entire game. That's intriguing due to the Purdue Boilermakers pass-heavy offense. Over the last four games, O'Connell is averaging 42.3 passing attempts per game. He's in a solid spot this week. Despite the Michigan State Spartans' lofty ranking, they allow a ton of yardage via the air. The Spartans are conceding 300.5 passing yards per game (127th nationally).

Others to Consider:
Sam Hartman ($11,500), Matt Corral ($10,800), Bryce Young ($10,500), KJ Jefferson ($9,200), CJ Stroud ($8,200), Adrian Martinez ($8,800), Sean Clifford ($8,500), Brock Purdy ($8,500), Will Levis ($8,000), Max Duggan ($7,900), Payton Thorne ($7,700), Dylan Morris ($6,200)

Running Backs

Breece Hall, Iowa State ($10,700) – Hall provides a solid floor as he has found the end zone in every game this season. The star running back has 985 rushing yards, 208 receiving yards (26 receptions), and 13 total touchdowns through eight games. We could witness a ceiling game this week. The Iowa State Cyclones' opponent, the Texas Longhorns, struggles to contain opposing ball carriers. Texas is allowing 205 rushing yards per game, which ranks 118th nationally, and they have coughed up 17 rushing touchdowns through eight games.

Travis Dye, Oregon ($9,800) – Dye is putting up monster box scores with CJ Verdell sidelined for the season. Over the last four games, Dye is averaging 80.8 rushing yards, 55.8 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns on 21.3 touches per game. The Oregon Ducks did incorporate more running backs into last week's game. I believe that was probably due to the score as Oregon raced out to a huge lead. Regardless, Dye still received 13 carries and recorded five receptions.

Jaylen Warren, Oklahoma State ($8,900) – Warren's workload was reduced in last week's blowout win (nine carries). Combine that with a deep running back pool on this slate, and Warren could be less popular than normal this week. The senior is averaging a healthy 21.8 carries per game. He is also averaging 106.2 rushing yards per game, which ranks 15th nationally. With Oklahoma State Cowboys installed as 3.5-point favorites over West Virginia, look for the Cowboys to lean upon their workhorse running back.

Trestan Ebnar, Baylor ($5,500) – Ebnar is the value play at running back this week. Despite playing second fiddle to Abram Smith, Ebnar has logged 23 carries over the last two games. He is receiving more than enough volume to provide a solid return on investment against the reeling Horned Frogs. TCU has been throttled by opposing ball carriers this season. They are allowing 204.4 rushing yards per game, which ranks 116th nationally, and the Horned Frogs have surrendered 19 rushing touchdowns through eight games.

Others to Consider:
Brian Robinson Jr. ($10,600), Bijon Robinson ($10,500), Kenneth Walker III ($10,300), TreVeyeon Henderson ($10,000), Ty Chandler ($9,400), Leddie Brown ($9,200), Abram Smith ($9,000), Zamir White ($8,500), Rahmir Johnson ($7,000), Kendre Miller ($6,700 - only if Zach Evans is out), Henry Parrish ($6,200), James Cook ($6,000)

Wide Receivers

Josh Downs, North Carolina ($10,500) – Downs is putting up video-game numbers in North Carolina's offense. Per our Austin Swaim's market share report for Week 10, Downs leads the slate in target share (42.4%) and receiving yards share (43.8%). The sophomore has at least eight receptions in every game this season. He is averaging an eye-popping 122.4 receiving yards per game (fourth nationally).

David Bell, Purdue ($8,900) – The junior is heavily targeted in the Boilermakers' pass-heavy offense. Bell has drawn 10-plus targets in five consecutive games (75 targets in 7 games played). The Boilermakers' top playmaker has an incredible six-plus receptions in every game this season. He is an obvious stacking partner with his quarterback, Aiden O'Connell. As noted above, Michigan State is allowing a ton of passing yards this season.

Jahcour Pearson, Mississippi ($6,400) – The Rebels could be extremely thin at the wide receiver position on Saturday. Ole Miss may be without all three out of their opening day starting wide receivers. Consequently, Pearson could be in line for a massive role. With Dontario Drummond suffering a mid-game injury last Saturday, Pearson ran an eye-opening 45 routes. The former walk-on hauled in seven receptions for 135 receiving yards on nine targets. He is under-salaried for his increased role.

Charlie Kolar, Iowa State ($6,100) – Until last week's game, Kolar had recorded at least four receptions in every game this year. There is a good chance that Kolar flies under the radar this week after notching just one reception against West Virginia. The Iowa State tight end is in a prime bounce-back spot as he'll square off with the Longhorns' struggling defense. Texas has allowed 39.3 points per game during its current three-game losing streak.

Others to Consider:
AT Perry ($9,500), Jahan Dotson ($9,200), Chris Olave ($9,100), Jacquarri Roberson ($9,000), Jameson Williams ($8,900), Garrett Wilson ($8,700), Treylon Burks ($8,700), John Metchie III ($8,600), Wan'Dale Robinson ($8,500), Jayden Reed ($8,300), Xavier Hutchinson ($8,100), Tay Martin ($8,100), Xavier Worthy ($8,000), Quentin Johnson ($7,800), Tyquan Thornton ($7,700), Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($7,300), Demario Douglas ($7,200), Ainis Smith ($7,100), Antoine Green ($6,400), Jaray Jenkins ($6,100), Brian Thomas Jr. ($5,500), Jahleel Billingsley ($5,300), Cade Otton ($5,300)
