Questions
Trade options?
10 man standard league

My team:
Manning, rivers
Murray, Martin, CJ2K, Pierce, West, Dunbar
Brown, Floyd, Benjamin, Randle
Cameron

His team:
Kaep, Wilson
Ball, Gio, Rice, Sproles
Cobb, Crabtree, Hilton, Cooks, Nicks, Watkins
Gronk

He really wants Murray off me and is willing to part with ball and a few other upgrades in other areas. What would be a good offer to accept? I like Murray as consistency having Martin as a loose cannon. But with Ball and Martin it might be hit and miss each week. If he offered say Ball and Crabtree for Murray and Floyd should I take it? Or are then other offers I should look for?

I would offer him Murray and Benjamin for Crabtree and Ball first. If he accepts, excellent. If not, then I would be inclined to accept Crabtree and Ball for Murray and Floyd. I consider Murray and Ball to be VERY similar (Numberfire agrees), so any improvement in your starting WR's would be worth it. If I were him, I wouldn't accept the trade, but if he's biased towards Murray, you may as well exploit it...

Ball/Crabtree and Murray/Floyd are pretty equivalent in my mind. If you're looking for consistency at RB, Ball and Murray both have big upside with clear reservations. Ball is starting for the best offense in the league, which just a top 5 season from Knowshon Moreno out of nowhere. However, he is in his first season as a starter. Murray has a history of success and is coming off a top 10 season while playing 14 games, but he has a history of injury and the Cowboys defense will be a sieve this year (read into that what you will).

The same largely plays out for Floyd and Crabtree. They both have had successful seasons and possess ideal size. Fitz is option 1a on an offense that will rely on the pass, while Crabtree is the clear no.1 on an team with a tendency to run.

I know this isn't particularly useful, but what I'm trying to say is that I don't think you can go wrong either way. I'm partial to Ball, especially with Martin as your RB2, because I believe he will be more consistent and less concerning from a playing time perspective. I also lean towards Crabtree, who has a higher ceiling than Floyd with near identical floors.

Clearly the other owner thinks differently and sees Murray as a substantial improvement off of Ball. See if you can work a Gronk/Cameron flip into the mix - Cameron is probably near the peak of his value right now, with Gordon's decision in yesterday.

What about Rice and Ball for Benjamin and Murray?

If the other owner is willing it's not a bad idea. But that seems doubtful since that trade would leave him with 3 backs and 7 receivers.

I will say, though, that Randle is a popular sleeper but far from a sure thing. Trading Benjamin and getting no receivers back would hurt your depth. Holding on to Randle and Benjamin would give you two legitimate sleepers, and only one needs to pan out to change your season.
