First mock of the season (12 team)
Standard with flex. 9th overall.

I realized outside of the top 6 I am not a fan of the RB options at all in the first. round picked in is in parentheses

QB:
Romo (10)

RB
M Ball (2)
R Matthews (3)
C Johnson (5)
T Gerhart (7)
S Greene (9)
J Stewart (12)

WR:
C Johnson (1)
P Garcon (4)
M Floyd (6)
T Williams (8)
B Cooks (11)
J Boykin (13)

TE
M Bennett (14)

D:
Saints (15)

K:
R Gould (16)

The picks I didn't like after I made them: Chris Johnson and Brandin Cooks. Just not particularly sold on Johnson getting the same workload in New York as in Tennessee. Cooks was kind of a "clocks running out, pick someone!" pick.

Overall I am happy with the draft. Though I would rather get a RB in the first the backs that I considered were still there for my 2nd round pick so getting the top WR paid off. What do you think?

For a 12 team league, I'm a big fan of the outcome of this mock.

Montee Ball in round 2 is a steal...but keep in mind, his ADP is already pretty high (late 1st round on most sites), so that's not an outcome likely to repeat itself, especially if he shows good stuff during camp and preseason. After that, I would actually call Gerhart your RB2, even though you drafted 2 other RBs ahead of him. I don't think it will ever be pretty, but I think he's going to pile up a pretty solid amount of points.

I would say you could have passed on Ryan Mathews in Round 3 to get some better WRs...but then again, for a 12 team league, I think your WR corps is freakin' stacked. Everyone you have from Floyd all the way down to Boykin could potentially blossom in to a very very strong WR3 for you. Like, to the point where I'd be starting them at Flex over a RB.

Riding the Romo-coaster is what it is. If you decide to take the plunge when it's for real, it's just gotta be something you're going to commit to 100%. Don't be that guy that thinks about plugging in a clear QB2 for him on a good matchup week, and then watch in horror as he explodes for 40 points while he rots on your bench. I think it's a fine pick, and a lot of folks are theorizing that with Linehan calling the shots, he could even see a boost in fantasy value.

TE is the only questionable call for me. Who else are you getting a sense is going to be available when you're planning on drafting a TE? If you're going for late value, stay away from Rookies (yes, even Ebron, unless you're in a dynasty/keeper league)...2 guys I really like are Delanie Walker in Tennessee and Ladarius Green in San Diego. I think a TE by Committee approach with those two guys could be very fruitful this year if your plan is try and avoid overpaying for one of the bigger names.

I don't like Chris Johnson, but this otherwise looks like many of my drafts so far this summer. I think it's very well done and shows that you can wait on QB and TE and still have a great looking roster. I think you have the strategy down (and if you're wrong, I'm wrong too, and we're in trouble this year).
