We have Matt Ryan as our #5 QB. Are we crazy, or does his consistency make him very underrated?
Can't forget the offense he has - a maturing Julio Jones, Roddy White, and a battering ram in Turner.

the reason Matt Ryan has been so consistent over last few years is because they have had an insane amount of home and Dome games! It is a little crazy to me to have him rated at #5. he shouldn't be any lower than #8. He is an average qb with talented weapons around him.

How can they have an insane amount of home games?

I meant Dome games. Was just to lazy to press backspace and delete the home part. I know all teams get an even split between home and away games.

Haha, Anthony, I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt here and thought you were using some kind of metric for Home+Dome games to help you with your QB choice.

Not too crazy but it's surprising that you have him above Matt Stafford, even despite Stafford's injury risk. Jones could and probably will be a star and Roddy White has been great for years but Turner isn't really a pass-catching back and the team loves to give it to him on the ground. Last year, Stafford was just as if not more consistent than Ryan. Ryan had 6 games scoring less than 15 points and only one game where he scored over 25. Stafford had only 4 games below 15 points and 4 over 25, including a 38 point monster in week 17. It seems to me he should be one slot lower, but I think that would be enough of a move.

Yeah, the thing about Stafford is that I think he may be just too injury prone to expect to hold up all season.

Post bye week last year (week 9), when Roddy and Julio were both healthy finally, Matt Ryan was the #4 Fantasy QB -- 2388 yards, 18 TDs, 4 INTs in 8 games

That may be true but Matt Stafford still outscored him in 6/9 weeks from week 8 onward and outscored him in total fantasy points over that timeframe as well, 204 to 168.

I only use week 8 as my start because the Lions had their bye during week 9, I'm not trying to be shifty with the numbers.

And as scary as his injury history is it's hard to call it a trend just yet, considering he's only been in the league for three seasons now. Two injured seasons at the beginning of a promising career are better, in the real world and in fantasy, than even one injured season in your prime.
