San Diego's Philip Rivers throws for 365 yards, 2 scores
San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed 35-of-48 passes for 365 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception in the Chargers' Week 5 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night.
A week after throwing for 358 yards, Rivers went for even more in Week 5. The return of Antonio Gates helped, as Rivers hooked up with his longtime tight end for both touchdowns, one from 12 yards out and the other from 11 yards away. The lone blemish for Rivers was a 70-yard pick-six.
Rivers added 6.29 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) in the loss. For the season, he has amassed 37.28 Passing NEP, which ranks ninth among all signal callers.
