Raiders bench Latavius Murray following late fumble
Running back Latavius Murray rushed 16 times for 49 yards and caught 3-of-5 targets for 12 yards Week 4 against the Chicago Bears.
The fumble was apparently the icing on an ineffective cake for the Oakland Raiders' coaching staff, as they pulled him late in the fourth quarter. He also had a Derek Carr pass bounce off of his chest and into the arms of Bears' linebacker Pernell McPhee. Roy Helu finished the game at running back.
There's not much reason to believe Murray won't be the bell cow again next week, as he ranked sixth in Rushing Net Expected Points per play among high-volume backs coming into Week 4. Still, it's a reminder that he's rawer than most third-year running backs.
