Coaching changes loom if Dolphins lose Week 4?
NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports the Miami Dolphins would consider "shaking up" the coaching staff if the team loses Week 4 in London.
It's understandable that owner Stephen Ross would be upset about his team's 1-2 start to the season, after spending the money and trading the pieces he did this offseason in an attempt to compete. Firing unimaginative head coach Joe Philbin is long overdue, and this could provide him the ammo he needs to feel comfortable with such a move.
By our schedule-adjusted Net Expected Points metrics, Miami ranks 24th in the NFL in offensive production and 26th in defensive production. That's not acceptable, considering that they were one of the biggest free agency spenders, on players such as Ndamukong Suh and Jordan Cameron.
