Ronnie Hillman- C.J. Anderson timeshare not going away
ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold said Denver Broncos' running backs C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman will continue to "split" carries.
Call it head coach Gary Kubiak's preference, or call it his lack of confidence in last year's workhorse Anderson, but it appears that Denver's running game has become a fantasy morass like so many other situations in the NFL. This isn't even a gameflow-centric committee, so it's hard to tell who will be the "lead back" in any given week.
Since the beginning of the year, Anderson has out-snapped Hillman 99-48, but that number becomes a much closer 42-31 when we factor out Week 1. What is clear is that Hillman is getting far more work done on the ground, with a -0.07 per-play Rushing Net Expected Points to Anderson's almost league-worst -0.30.
