Colts' Andrew Luck's shoulder reportedly 'stopped' improving

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck's surgically-repaired shoulder "stopped getting better" about a week and a half ago, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

According to Rapoport, Luck met with "4-5" doctors who recommended that the quarterback stop throwing for "several months" to try and reduce the soreness. Colts' general manager Chris Ballard says the team is "doing everything we can to have a chance to have a long-term career," suggesting there's some doubt about his future. We cautiously expect Luck to be under center for the Colts by the start of the 2018 season, but nothing is guaranteed at this point.

In five seasons, Luck has compiled a 43-27 record while completing 1570-of-2651 passes (59.2 percent) for 19,078 yards with 132 touchdowns and 68 interceptions.
