Cardinals' Jermaine Gresham out for preseason finale
Arizona Cardinals tight end Jermaine Gresham will not play in the team's preseason finale on Thursday.
Gresham has not played this preseason due to offseason back surgery and his hamstring issue. Darren Fells is expected to start Week 1 in Gresham's absence.
The Cardinals ranked 20th in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Gresham ranked 25th out of 27 tight ends with at least 50 targets with a disappointing 0.37 Reception NEP per target last season. Our algorithms project Gresham to finish the year with 18 receptions, 128 receiving yards, and 1 touchdown.
