Mike Evans says DeSean Jackson will be 'very helpful' in Buccaneers' offense

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans said having DeSean Jackson playing opposite him will be "very helpful."

What It Means:

"This is going to be awesome," Evans said of the partnership. "Obviously, I think we could be one of the best tandems in the league. DeSean is an explosive receiver. I think we can do great things together." Evans set career-highs in receptions (96) and receiving yards (1,321) while matching his best touchdown total (12) last season. With the additions of Jackson and first-round tight end O.J. Howard for third-year quarterback Jameis Winston, this Buccaneers offense has the potential to set off some fireworks in 2017.

Among the 60 wide receivers to see at least 80 targets last season, Evans had the fifth-most Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target while Jackson came in 16th. The Buccaneers ranked 19th as a team in schedule-adjusted Offensive NEP per play.
