Browns find their quarterback, select DeShone Kizer with the 52nd pick
The Cleveland Browns selected Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback DeShone Kizer with the 52nd overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
After much speculation, the Browns finally nabbed a quarterback prospect to compete with Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler for the starting job in Cleveland. Kizer started 23 games for the Irish and has all the physical tools you want from a quarterback (big arm, athletic build, 6'4" frame). There is some concern with his touch and ability to read a defense, but Kizer projects as a franchise quarterback even if he doesn't start in Week 1, or at all in 2017.
Kizer racked up 5,805 passing yards, 47 touchdowns and 19 interceptions while completing 60.7 percent of his passes at Notre Dame. He added 997 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground.
