Chargers select Mike Williams with the seventh pick of the draft
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Clemson Tigers wide receiver Mike Willimas with the seventh pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
After a scary neck fracture in 2015, Williams bounced back to post the best season of his Clemson career in 2016. With a big frame (6'4", 215 lbs), the former Tiger will be able to outmuscle and utilize his long arms and strong hands to dominate opposing defensive backs, giving quarterback Philip Rivers another weapon next year. Williams will pair nicely with Tyrell Williams and provides insurance in case Keenan Allen is not 100 percent.
Williams recorded 98 catches for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2016 for Clemson.
