Jay Cutler is Jets' fallback option

The New York Jets will take "a long look" at free agent quarterback Jay Cutler if they're unable to work out a trade with the Denver Broncos for quarterback Trevor Siemian, reports Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

What It Means:

The Jets ideal outcome would be to land Siemian, but Cutler has apparently been identified as the contingency plan. With the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers no longer looking for a starting quarterback, Cutler's options will be limited.

Among the 39 quarterbacks to top 100 drop backs last season, Cutler's Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranked fourth-worst.
