Free agents Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles not drawing interest

Free agent running backs Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles aren't generating much interest from teams at the NFL Combine, PFT's Mike Florio reports.

What It Means:

Per Florio, Peterson is having conversations with teams, but the money he's looking for may not be there. Charles, on the other hand, hasn't been linked to any teams. Both are on the wrong side of 30 and coming off significant knee operations. Florio suggests Peterson could play it smart and sit out into the summer so he doesn't have to go through the grind of OTA's and camp.

There were 88 running backs to notch at least 30 rushing attempts last year. Peterson earned -0.39 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt, by far the worst rate among that group. Charles has attempted just 83 rushing attempts over the last two years, but has earned 0.08 Rushing NEP per attempt over that span of time.
