Tony Romo expects Cowboys to release him
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo expects to be released, reports ESPN's Ed Werder.
The alternative would be a trade, but Romo will be 37 by the start of next season and likely won't yield much after playing a total of five games over the past two years. Werder added that he believes Romo can play another two-to-three seasons.
The question remains how good Romo will be in what will be his age-37 campaign. In 2015, the veteran quarterback tossed -0.04 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back on 127 drop backs, but generated 0.16 Passing NEP per drop back on 684 such plays in 2014.
