Falcons' Alex Mack (ankle) will sit out practice this week
Atlanta Falcons center Alex Mack will not practice this week because of a "swollen, painful sprained ankle," reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Mack suffered the injury in the NFC Championship Game, but he toughed it out and finished the game. The extra week off to prepare should guarantee his status for the Super Bowl, but it's something that will be monitored closely heading into next Sunday.
In no small part to the play of Mack and the rest of the offensive line, the Falcons finished the regular season ranked first in both overall Adjusted Offensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play and Adjusted Passing NEP per play. They were third in Adjusted Rushing NEP per play.
