Jamaal Charles (knee, IR) won't be back for Chiefs in 2016
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (knee, injured reserve) is done for the season.
Charles has just 83 total rushing attempts in eight games over the past two seasons. The nine-year veteran will turn 30 next month, and the Chiefs may elect to cut him this offseason, as they would save $7 million by doing so.
Among the 54 running backs in 2015 to have at least 100 opportunities (rushes plus targets), Charles's 0.15 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt ranked second. Entering Week 16, the Chiefs rank 25th in Adjusted Rushing NEP per play.
