Rob Gronkowski expected to play for Patriots, be on snap count

ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini reports New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is expected to play Thursday night against the Houston Texans, according to owner Robert Kraft.

What It Means:

That's a pretty reliable source and ESPN's Adam Schefter seconded the notion that Gronkowski will be active. Dianna Marie Russini, also with ESPN, is reporting that the tight end will be on a snap count in his season debut Thursday evening. She expects Gronkowski will "rotate," presumably with Martellus Bennett. You never bench Gronk in season-long, but he's not the typical unanimous top option at the position this week.

Despite the injury, snap count, tough matchup and third-round rookie Jacoby Brissett starting at quarterback for the Patriots, Gronkowski is still our top tight end for fantasy purposes in Week 3. We project him for 65 yards receiving and 0.56 touchdowns on 5 catches in Week 3.
