Brock Purdy clears concussion protocol, will start for 49ers in Week 8
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will start Sunday in the team's Week 8 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced.
What It Means:
Purdy has officially cleared the NFL's concussion protocol. This is rather shocking, as he only entered it on Wednesday. In any case, the Iowa State product will hope to bounce back from back-to-back losses against a Bengals team coming off a bye week. Sam Darnold will remain as the backup.
