Rapoport: Steelers' Kenny Pickett (knee) expected to return this season
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett (knee) is expected to be able to return this season, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Pickett will miss some time with the knee injury he suffered in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Houston Texans, per Rapoport, but it's not believed to be a season-ender. Mitchell Trubisky is expected to start ahead of Mason Rudolph in Week 5 versus the Baltimore Ravens.
Pickett completed 15 of 23 pass attempts for 114 yards and an interception before leaving late in the third quarter. Trubisky completed 3 of 5 attempts for 18 yards in relief. He targeted George Pickens and Jaylen Warren twice each and Calvin Austin once. Pickett has been the second-least efficient quarterback in the NFL with at least 100 dropbacks this season, according to numberFire's advanced metrics, so Trubisky could actually be an upgrade for the offense and receivers.
