Kyle Rudolph to benefit from Vikings improved offensive line

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph has the most to gain from the Minnesota Vikings' improved offensive line, ESPN Vikings reporter Ben Goessling believes.

What It Means:

Rudolph was asked to block on 51.2 percent of his snaps last season. After running a pass route on 55.5 and 54.9 percent of his snaps the previous two seasons, Rudolph went out in a route just 48.8 percent of the time in 2015. With the additions of left guard Alex Boone and right tackle Andre Smith, Rudolph is expected to be featured more as a pass catcher.

Rudolph picked up 22.61 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) on just 34 targets. His sum Reception NEP ranked 32nd among the 44 tight ends with at least 30 targets. His 0.67 Reception NEP per play ranked 16th among these players, however.
