Anquan Boldin's contract with 49ers voids, making him a free agent
The final three years of Anquan Boldin's contract with the San Francisco 49ers voided, making him a free agent.
Boldin signed a five-year deal two years ago, but the final three years were set to void as soon as the deal was signed. The move leaves the 49ers with $2.7 million in dead money. Boldin managed 789 yards and five scores despite playing through injuries and a combination of Colin Kaepernick/Blaine Gabbert. He’ll be one of top wideouts on the market despite entering his age-36 season.
Among the 48 receivers to see at least 80 targets, Boldin ranked 44th in Reception Net Expected Points per target in 2015.
