Hobbled Jeremy Maclin goes for 23 yards as Chiefs fall at New England

Kansas City Chiefs wideout Jeremy Maclin caught 2-of-3 targets for 23 yards in the Chiefs' Divisional Round loss to the New England Patriots.

What It Means:

Playing through a high-ankle sprain, Maclin "started," playing the Chiefs' first snap, but he was clearly a shell of his usual self. He was absent for the vast majority of the second half. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise good first year in Kansas City. The No. 1 receiver the Chiefs desperately needed, Maclin caught 87 passes for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns across 15 games. He's now found the end zone at least seven times in three straight campaigns. Still only 28 (in May), Maclin will be back as Alex Smith's No. 1 wideout in 2016.

Maclin finished the year 27th in Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target. He turned his three looks into 3.49 Reception NEP in the loss to New England.
