Jamaal Charles retiring after 11 seasons
Jamaal Charles is retiring from the National Football League.
Charles will sign a one-day contract to retire with the Kansas City Chiefs. That's where he spent the bulk of his career after being drafted in the third round in 2008, averaging a superb 5.5 yards per carry over 1,332 rushing attempts and surpassing 1,300 yards from scrimmage five times from 2009-14. He turns 33 in December.
Charles rushed 1,407 times for 7,563 yards and 44 touchdowns over 11 NFL seasons. He added 310 receptions (439 targets) for 2,593 yards and 20 touchdowns.
