Patriots' Tom Brady impressive in 280-yard, three-score performance

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completed 23-of-42 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos.

What It Means:

Brady threw two first-half touchdowns, and hit Brandon Bolden for a 63-yard score on the first play of the fourth quarter. He was missing most of his supporting cast with Danny Amendola sidelined and Rob Gronkowski (knee) leaving in the fourth quarter. Brady only completed 54 percent of his passes, but he didn’t have any turnovers. He’s now thrown for at least 250 yards and multiple touchdowns in 10-of-11 games.

Remember how bad Aaron Rodgers (77 yards) played against the Broncos? Well, Brady finished the game with 7.29 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) despite the snowy weather and the Patriots' growing list of injuries. Entering the week, among signal callers with at least 100 drop backs, Brady ranked second in Passing NEP per drop back. The Patriots get the struggling Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13.
