Celtics' Marcus Smart will receive second opinion on injured thumb
Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart will receive a second opinion on his injured right thumb on Thursday.
Smart wants to clarify whether he's dealing with a partial or full tear of a ligament in his right thumb. If it's the former, Smart plans to play through it, but if it's a full tear that requires surgery, the 24-year-old guard will be out for 2-3 months. In the meantime, Terry Rozier should continue to benefit.
Smart is averaging 24.4 FanDuel points per game this season, with 10.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 3-pointers per contest.
