Dwight Howard reveals he had torn meniscus and MCL for Rockets last year

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard revealed Friday in an interview with SportsRadio 610 that he played through a torn meniscus and MCL in his right knee during the playoffs last season.

What It Means:

Howard was held to 41 games during the regular season last year, but he suited up for all 17 postseason contests. He appears to be all healthy heading into 2015-'16.

If Howard was hampered, it didn't show in his performance. His Offensive Rating was 105 in both the regular and postseason, and his Defensive Rating only increased slightly to 101 from 100. If Howard can stay healthy, he should be ready for another heavy output this year.
