C.J. McCollum suspended for Trail Blazers' season opener

Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum has been suspended for opening night, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

What It Means:

The suspension comes on the heels of an altercation during Portland's preseason win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. During the spat, McCollum left the bench area, which is in direct violation of NBA rules. There's no word yet on whether or not he will appeal, but it's likely that Evan Turner starts if McCollum misses Wednesday's game.

Prior to the news, McCollum was projected to score 24.7 points and account for 38.9 FanDuel points across 36.3 minutes in Portland's first game of the season.
