The Bulls waive Rajon Rondo on Friday

The Chicago Bulls have waived point guard Rajon Rondo on Friday.

What It Means:

After the Bulls' trade of Jimmy Butler on draft night, it was expected Rondo would be waived to give Kris Dunn and Cameron Payne all the available minutes at point guard this season. Rondo will now be able to enter free agency with no strings attached with the New Orleans Pelicans and Indiana Pacers emerging as early favorites for his services.

Rondo averaged 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game while posting a -3.2 nERD rating, ranking him 425th out of 486 NBA players last season.
