Knicks' Carmelo Anthony excels in a loss to Oklahoma City

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony went 11-of-20 from the field on Wednesday, racking up 30 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal in 39 minutes of action as the Knicks fell 116-105 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

What It Means:

Melo was also named an All-Star replacement as Kevin Love (knee) won't be able to play. This will make eight straight All-Star appearances for Anthony, who is averaging 23.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 34.0 minutes per game.

Anthony has had a fairly efficient season, and his .546 true shooting percentage is his best in the last three seasons (and a shade above his career-average) while he has limited his turnover rate to a career-low 8.7 percent. He ranks 84th in the NBA and second on the Knicks with a 1.5 nERD on the year.
