Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is out Friday with a shoulder strain
Detroit Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (left shoulder) has a Grade-2 left rotator cuff strain and will not play Friday against the Utah Jazz.
Caldwell-Pope was spotted in a sling after Thursday's game and he is already doubtful for Sunday. The injury is to his non-shooting shoulder, so he could play through it, but it might take a few games on the sidelines before he is ready to try that. Stanley Johnson should take on a bigger role while Caldwell-Pope is out.
Our models have Johnson as one of the best value plays of the evening on Friday. We project him for 9.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals over 34.6 minutes against the Jazz.
