Grizzlies' Marc Gasol says he still can't run

In an interview with Spanish newspaper As, Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol (foot) said it's unlikely that he will play in the Olympics.

What It Means:

"I'm not going to lie, it's very difficult," said Gasol. "The training camp starts in less than a month and I still can't run." Recent reports have indicated that Gasol's rehab from his fractured right foot is "on schedule," but it wouldn't make sense for him to rush the recovery process to play for Spain. Hopefully he will be ready for the start of the 2016-17 season, but there should be plenty of updates on his progress this summer.

Gasol averaged 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.3 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game this past season. He only played in 52 games, and he had a nERD of -0.1 for the season.
