Ty Lawson

Rockets possibly looking to deal Ty Lawson

The Houston Rockets are rumored to be shopping around point guard Ty Lawson, according to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

What It Means:

This report should not come as a shock considering how badly Lawson has played in Houston's system, after spending the first six years of his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets. Between his poor play and his issues off of the court, it's likely that the Rockets won't be able to get much in return. However, this doesn't mean that a trade won't happen as the Rockets seem ready to move on already. Lawson does have an attractive contract because of the final $13.2 million of his deal being fully non-guaranteed.

Lawson owns a -11.3 nERD this season, which is good for 150th "best." He's averaging 7.2 points, 4.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game while posting a .384 effective field goal percentage. We project Lawson to score 11.9 points, dish out 6.0 assists and grab 3.3 rebounds on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
