If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate, which starts at 1:00 PM EST and contains all four playoff games.
Best of the Best
LeBron James (FanDuel Price: $12,200) - In four games against the Indiana Pacers this season, James dominated even though the Pacers took the season series, 3-1. The King averaged 28.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 10.3 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks for 58.8 FanDuel points per game against Indiana. That was regular-season Bron, too. We all know when the playoffs come, he kicks it into high gear, as shown by his 32.8 real-world points per game average last season, a 30% increase over his regular-season average of 25.2 points. The Cleveland Cavaliers hold the second-highest implied total of the day (109.5) in what is projected to be a close game, leaving James plenty of opportunity to "go out and dominate" the Pacers, much like he did, for DFS purposes, this regular season.
