5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 1/18/17
A pair of Hornets look to create some buzz versus the generous Blazers defense. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Darren Collison, PG, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 20.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.51

The Sacramento Kings have rested for two days, which means Ty Lawson (ankle) could be feeling all better. However, if Lawson is experiencing any setbacks, Darren Collison would take the reins from what's been a timeshare in the Kings backcourt. Over his past five games, Collison is averaging 15.4 points, 2.8 assists, and 2 three-pointers in 28.5 minutes.

Collison is playing against the Indiana Pacers, who offer the third-best matchup to opposing point guards tonight. In addition, he could see heavy usage in what's projected to be a close game with a 1.5 point spread.

E'Twaun Moore, SG, New Orleans Pelicans

FanDuel Price: $3,700
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.0
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.86

Despite the gradual return of Tyreke Evans, E'Twaun Moore is managing to produce with an average of 25.4 minutes over his last five games. Moore is coming off back-to-back double figure scoring efforts in which he averaged 15.5 points to go along with 2.5 three-pointers.

Moore has the fourth-highest projected value among all shooting guards playing tonight. Priced at near-minimum salary, Moore is worth considering as a flier.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $4,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 26.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.51

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist tends to be a roll-of-the-dice in the box score, but his athleticism has allowed him to average 10 rebounds over his last six games. He has shown growth this season as he's on pace to set or tie career-highs in blocks, steals, and offensive rebounds.

Kidd-Gilchrist is projected to score the sixth-highest FanDuel points at his position on a jam-packed slate, so he's a viable candidate as a value play.

Marvin Williams, PF, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $4,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.4
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.2

Marvin Williams has been on fire over his last five games, as he's been shooting 49% from the field, 46% from three-point range, and 82% from the charity stripe. Over that span, Williams is averaging 15 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 three-pointers made.

Williams and the Charlotte Hornets run with the Portland Trail Blazers, who offer the best matchup to opposing power forwards among teams playing tonight. The Blazers have the worst defensive efficiency on tonight's slate, so Williams could output decent value.

Kyle O'Quinn, C, New York Knicks

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.5
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.02

With Kristaps Porzingis ruled out and Joakim Noah being listed as questionable, Kyle O'Quinn could see the bulk of big man minutes tonight versus the Boston Celtics. Over eight games in which O'Quinn has logged 20-plus minutes, he has averaged 12.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks.

According to our tools, O'Quinn is trending as the second-hottest player among all centers on Wednesday's slate. He's playing 48.18% above his season average in terms of fantasy points per night over his last five games. The Celtics offer the fourth-best matchup to opposing centers tonight, so O'Quinn has a shot for a solid stat line.
