NBA
Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Wednesday 1/4/17

It's another night with a stacked injury report. We have officially reached the dog days of January, which means following injuries and rotations are going to be crucial to your DFS success.

Notable Injuries

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have caught the dreaded flu bug, and it looks like they could be without several starters tonight. LeBron James missed shootaround with an illness while Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were limited in shootaround. There are a dozen different scenarios that could happen, so the best thing to do is keep an eye out for any further news. No one seems 100 percent, but whoever plays will draw more value if his teammates sit.

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have been dealing with the injury bug here lately, and it is biting tonight. James Johnson, Hassan Whiteside, Tyler Johnson, Justise Winslow and Dion Waiters all missed Tuesday's game. They are playing late against the Sacramento Kings, and we have yet to hear word from either team's shootaround. Goran Dragic gets a big boost if Miami is shorthanded again while Willie Reed had the game of his career last night with Whiteside out. Stay tuned.

Sacramento Kings

The Kings also have a couple of injury unknowns as of late this afternoon. Rudy Gay and Ty Lawson missed last night's game and are likely still questionable for tonight. If Lawson is out, Darren Collison is a great play while Arron Afflalo, Matt Barnes and Garrett Temple gain the most if Gay is out.

Dwyane Wade, Chicago Bulls

Dwyane Wade probably really wants to suit up against the Cavs tonight, but he is also a game-time decision. He missed the front half of the Chicago Bulls back to back, but with James also sick and potentially, out, who knows what Wade will do. Jimmy Butler is a must-play if Wade is out again, and he could potentially be playing against Cleveland's role players.

Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard is doubtful against the Golden State Warriors. Considering the Portland Trail Blazers have been blown out by the Warriors twice this season with Lillard playing, this one might be over with quickly if Lillard is out again.

Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers

Chris Paul is also doubtful tonight, which should bump up Raymond Felton and Austin Rivers. Jamal Crawford also gets a slight bump.

Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic

Evan Fournier is a game-time decision for tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks. The Orlando Magic tip early, though, so we should have an update on him before roster lock. Look for Jodie Meeks to get a boost is Fournier is out again.

Cody Zeller, Charlotte Hornets

Cody Zeller is still in the concussion protocol, and he will not play on Wednesday. The Charlotte Hornets went with a committee at center with Zeller out, and the situation is not very appealing for DFS tonight.

Kristaps Porzingis, New York Knicks

Kristaps Porzingis is still banged up, and the team is calling him doubtful for Wednesday. There is no clear winner for fantasy purposes with Porzingis out. Joakim Noah has been seeing more minutes and is likely the best option.

JaMychal Green, Memphis Grizzlies

JaMychal Green was elbowed in the face last night and while his x-rays were negative, his eye was completely swollen shut. That probably makes him firmly in the questionable territory tonight for the Memphis Grizzlies. Zach Randolph likely stands to get the biggest boost if Green is unable to play while Marc Gasol might get a few more shots.
