4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/13/19

We get another evening of the Diamondbacks and Rockies at Coors Field on Tuesday, and with Rockies starter Jon Gray being replaced by Jeff Hoffman tonight, the D-backs in particular find themselves in an enticing spot. But there's certainly no shortage of alternatives on this 14-game slate, including another go-round between the New York Yankees and the struggling Baltimore Orioles pitching staff.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

New York Yankees

Even with Coors Field on the menu, there's a strong argument that the Yankees are still the top stack on the night, as they continued their stretch of dominance over the Orioles in a doubleheader sweep on Monday.

Left-hander John Means is the next potential victim, and he allowed four earned runs in just 3.2 innings in last week's start against this same Yankees team. Means' 3.36 ERA is merely a mirage, living off a .259 BABIP, 78.4% strand rate, and 10.1% homer-to-fly-ball rate -- all marks that are well off the league average this season and should regress over the long haul. Instead, an ugly 4.93 SIERA may be closer to reality, and the Yankees have a great chance to add to their home run tally off Means' 49.7% fly-ball rate.

Not much more needs to be said about this Yankees offense these days, which can attack Means with righties like DJ LeMahieu ($4,300), Aaron Judge ($4,000), Giovanny Urshela ($4,000), Gary Sanchez ($4,000), and Gleyber Torres ($3,600). Torres has been an absolute menace against the Orioles this season, hitting 13 dingers against them compared to 13 against the entire rest of the league. It's probably more of a small sample coincidence than anything else, but Torres does own a .281 ISO against lefties over his young career and is slightly cheaper than the rest of the big Yankee bats.

Additionally, Cameron Maybin ($3,100) remains one of the cheapest bats in the lineup, and Didi Gregorius ($3,100) is also still worth a look in a lefty-lefty spot since he'll get his hacks in against the Orioles' bullpen.
