Fantasy Football: 4 Quarterbacks Who Easily Outperformed Their 2016 Preseason Rankings
Four late-round quarterbacks paid off in a big way this past season. None of these passers were taken until the 10th round, on average, but each ended up ranking among the best at the position.

Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

When comparing five popular fantasy draft sites (ESPN, Yahoo, NFL.com, Fox Sports and CBS Sports), Matt Ryan had an average preseason ranking of 145th -- 19th among quarterbacks -- and an ADP of 125.1. Amazingly, his ADP was actually lower than the other three quarterbacks to make this list.

Ryan didn't get selected in many 10- or 12-team Yahoo drafts since he was the 28th quarterback off the board, according to his ADP on that site.

He proved everyone wrong by winning the NFL MVP Award, finishing first in quarterback rating (117.1), second in passing yards (4,944), second in touchdown passes (38) and third in completion percentage (69.9%). All those stats were easily career highs.

Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers was the only player to score more fantasy points than Ryan, but Ryan and Tom Brady were easily the best passers in the league on a per-drop-back basis, according to our metrics.

Unfortunately for Ryan, he extended an odd streak by becoming the eighth straight MVP who has reached the Super Bowl to wind up losing the big game.

Ryan was the most-owned quarterback (36.3%) on ESPN finalist teams in 10-team leagues.
