Complete 2016 NFL Playoff and Seeding Odds Entering Week 17

Green Bay Packers

Playoff Odds: 71.90% | Division Odds: 59.05%

The Green Bay Packers are the most likely team to snag a postseason berth in the NFC with 71.90% overall odds. A lot of that stems from their odds of claiming victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday night.

Right now, the Packers are projected to win that game 59.05% of the time. This helps explain why the Packers are 3.5-point favorites even though the game is in Detroit.

Even if the Packers lose, they could still wind up making the playoffs, thus the amped up overall playoff odds. They would need a loss by Washington, which the algorithms see happening 31.39% of the time. Thankfully for the Packers, Washington's game against the New York Giants is earlier in the day, meaning they'll know whether or not that's a possibility before kickoff Sunday night.

As far as seeding goes, the Packers can still be the 3 seed if the they win and Seattle Seahawks fall to the San Francisco 49ers. The most likely scenario, however, is that the Packers wind up as the 4 seed with 41.30% odds. Their odds of claiming the 3 seed are 17.75%, and they have 12.85% odds of entering the playoffs as the 6 seed.
