What to Watch For During College Basketball's Feast Week
With several big tournaments tipping off over the holiday weekend, we break down the teams and players you should keep an eye on.

Maui Invitational

Top Teams: (6) Wichita State, (13) Notre Dame, Michigan, Marquette, LSU

Best Potential Game: (13) Notre Dame vs. (6) Wichita State - Wednesday 10:30 ET, ESPN2

The Maui Invitational started Monday and nearly saw the top team in the field, Wichita State, get bounced into the losers bracket. The Shockers trailed by as much as 18 to Cal before pulling away to victory.

Given the less loaded than usual field, Wichita State and Notre Dame are on a collision course that could give us one of the best games of the weekend, in what would be an important measuring stick game for both teams. While Wichita State has matchups with Oklahoma and Baylor coming up in the non-conference, Notre Dame would be their highest profile opponent before they play a comparatively weaker conference schedule within the American. The Irish have Michigan State on their schedule when they return from Maui and the gauntlet ACC conference schedule to lean on, but another opportunity to get a big win this early in the season is always welcomed.
