NCAA Tournament: 5 Players to Watch From Mid-Major Teams

Brandon Goodwin, Florida Gulf Coast Eagles

Dunk city is back.

Yes, while Florida Gulf Coast made a brief appearance in last year's tournament, they'll be looking to get back to their roots and winning ways. They should have a much better chance to do with with a new-look team, headed by junior transfer Brandon Goodwin.

Goodwin just transferred this past year, so he hasn't been around for a tournament game. However, he brings the unique experience of having played for Central Florida against higher competition in the American Athletic Conference. That will certainly help as the 14 seed takes on Florida State, the 3 seed in the West region.

Goodwin's big-time production should also prove valuable. With 18.2 points per game on 51.6% shooting from the field, he's the team's leading scorer. And if that wasn't enough, the experienced guard has added 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 31.4 minutes per game. If the Eagles want to make another memorable run, it could take even more from Goodwin, who, with 6.3 win shares this year, has been everything his team has needed him to be.
