Finding Betting Value Based on Our Current NBA Finals Odds
The Raptors are leaders in the East, but Vegas isn't showing them the respect our models think they deserve.

Over the last three-plus seasons -- since LeBron James returned to Cleveland -- we have been very certain about what we're going to get. In fact, the Cavs have met the Golden State Warriors in three straight NBA Finals, with Cleveland taking one and Golden State taking the other two.

We've also become accustomed to: the San Antonio Spurs as a constant threat, the Houston Rockets as a high-powered dynamo and offensively-charged riser, and the Toronto Raptors as a really good regular season team but poor playoff squad.

As humans, it's hard for us to put these past behaviors and stigmas behind us. We carry them with us, and we take them into account when making bets. But it appears that Vegas does the same thing.

Heading into the second part of the 2017-18 season, there are some teams going severely overvalued and undervalued in today's NBA championship odds. With the help of our own championship odds, let's identify who those teams are and why we should take advantage of these oversights.

Before we dive in, take a look at a full breakdown of Bovada's top-20 teams, including their implied title probability (based on converting them from American odds), our models' likelihood and the difference between the two.
