NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 10/19/17
Are Patrick Beverley and Kyle Lowry in play at point guard despite having Russell Westbrook on this slate?

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate.

Best of the Best

Kyle Lowry (FanDuel Price: $8,600) - This three-game slate isn't easy. We have two games with 12.5-point spreads, so blowouts are in the cards for those. And FanDuel gave us a nice test with some tightened pricing (more on that later). However, Lowry against a thinned-out Chicago Bulls team and playing at home should have a high floor even if the Toronto Raptors do make good on the blowout risk. Toronto's implied total of 110.5 is third on the slate, and the 208.5-point total is the lowest of the three games. These are the slowest two teams on the docket, as well, and that could keep it closer for more minutes, allowing Lowry to make good on his high fantasy floor.
