5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 2/9/17
With Evan Turner sidelined, Allen Crabbe could be in for extended minutes, and he gets a matchup against the Avery Bradley-less Boston Celtics. Which other low-cost options are in a good spot?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

D.J. Augustin, PG, Orlando Magic

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 18.2
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.2

Since Evan Fournier's return to the Orlando Magic lineup, D.J. Augustin has seen his stats dip just a bit compared to his season averages. Over his last five games, Augustin is recording 7.4 points and 2.6 assists in 22 minutes. He has remained efficient when given minutes as he's averaging per-36 stats of 15.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.4 three-pointers.

Augustin boasts the highest projected value among all point guards playing tonight. Priced at minimum salary, he is worth considering as a punt option.

Allen Crabbe, SG, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Price: $3,500
Projected FanDuel Points: 20.1
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.88

With Evan Turner expected to miss an extended period of time, other players such as Allen Crabbe will have an opportunity to step up. Crabbe is currently on pace for a career year with averages of 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 three-pointers.

Crabbe is tied with the second-best defense-versus-position rank among all shooting guards on tonight's schedule and is worth considering as a flier. As a boost, the Boston Celtics will be playing sans Avery Bradley

Joe Johnson, SF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $3,800
Projected FanDuel Points: 15.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 4.03

Joe Johnson is coming off a throwback performance of 27 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the three-point line. He had not scored that many points since the season opener, when he dropped 29, but the veteran was able to catch fire. Johnson is averaging 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 three-pointers when logging 20-plus minutes this year.

According to our tools, Johnson is trending as tonight's hottest small forward -- he's played 47.38% above his season average in terms of fantasy points per night over his last five games.

Channing Frye, PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

FanDuel Price: $4,300
Projected FanDuel Points: 25.6
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.96

Cavs coach Tyronn Lue has hinted that he may rest his team's big three tonight, which would result in more minutes for reserve big man Channing Frye. Over 13 games in which Frye has logged 20-plus minutes this season, he has averaged 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.5 three-pointers made.

Frye is projected to net the third-highest FanDuel points among all power forwards on Thursday's slate.

Jahlil Okafor, C, Philadelphia 76ers

FanDuel Price: $4,600
Projected FanDuel Points: 23.3
Projected FanDuel Value: 5.07

Joel Embiid will miss yet another game tonight, which opens up more playing time for Jahlil Okafor. Last night, Okafor recorded a season-high of 20 points, which included a 10-of-11 performance from the free throw line. Over his last two games, Okafor has averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, and a block in 25.2 minutes.

Okafor owns the second-highest projected value among all centers on tonight's slate.
