Trail Blazers' Evan Turner (hand) hoping to avoid surgery
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Evan Turner (fractured right hand) is hoping that he can avoid surgery.
"We haven't really discussed it yet," said Turner about how long the injury might take to heal. "The guy that checked it out said it didn't look like it needed surgery or anything." He's probably looking at 4-6 weeks on the shelf, opening up the door for Moe Harkless to return to the starting lineup.
Harkless is averaging 11.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 3-pointers across 42 starts this season. His -2.0 nERD ranks 10th on the Blazers.
